In line with its strong innovation strategy, SENER has launched its newest FORAN V70R2.0 solution, which features a payload of new capabilities and innovative developments.

Nowadays, the key to remaining competitive within the naval shipbuilding industry is the right management of information throughout the design process and seamless transition from one design stage to the next. SENER has strengthened the links between the basic and detail designs, and between the ship design and the running product lifecycle management (PLM) solution. The FORAN V70R2.0 encompasses the management of sister ships, another step towards meeting market demand for a cost-effective, energy-efficient design.

Regarding the initial design discipline, the revolutionary FBASIC module replaces all the former naval architecture applications, which, in addition to the FORAN General Arrangement module, manage the initial design stage.

Rapid generation of the structural 3D model is made possible by the hull structure discipline, with innovative solutions such as a new module for the management of nestings, new profile definition options and the link with FEMtools (finite element model tools).

The new developments within the machinery and outfitting discipline include the new FSYSD module for the management of system diagrams, enhancements in clash detection and interactive solid routing of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) ducts and cable trays.

For the electrical design discipline, the most relevant development is a new set of commands for the complete calculation of onboard electric loads.

Other general innovations include a new solution to extract material reports, and the incorporation of stereoscopic visualisation and tracking in the FVIEWER virtual reality viewer. With more than 45 years’ experience in the market, SENER keeps on developing cutting-edge solutions that drive shipbuilding success.
